Watch for the lighter feathering. Almost every dark golden adult carries paler fur on the chest, the backs of the legs and the underside of the tail, and often a lighter face. A dark dog that is uniformly one colour all over is unusual. If a photograph shows one, look at it in daylight before you believe it.

The sun changes it. A dark coat lightens across a summer of long walks and deepens again over winter. The same dog can look meaningfully different in June and December, which surprises a lot of first time owners and is entirely normal.

It is not rare and it should not cost more. Dark golden appears in ordinary litters from ordinary parents. If a breeder is charging a premium for the shade rather than for the dog, that is a decision about their pricing rather than a fact about the puppy.
