No money moves through this website. There is no checkout, no payment button, and no page here that will ever show you an account to send money to. Everything below is arranged between us directly, in writing.
The deposit
A deposit of 30 percent of the puppy’s price holds that named puppy for you. It is not a general place on a list and it is not transferable to a different litter unless we agree that in writing.
I do not take a deposit on a puppy under five weeks old. Before that there is genuinely nothing to reserve: temperaments have not appeared yet and I would be selling you a guess.
When a deposit is not refundable
If you change your mind, the deposit is not returned. That is not a penalty, it is the actual cost: a held puppy is a puppy I have turned other homes away from, and by the time you change your mind those homes have found a dog elsewhere.
When it is refunded in full
- If I cannot supply the puppy for any reason.
- If the puppy becomes unwell before handover.
- If the litter does not produce the puppy that was reserved.
- If your own vet finds an existing health problem at the seventy two hour examination, in which case the whole purchase price comes back, not only the deposit.
The balance
Due before the puppy travels or is collected. I will tell you the figure in writing and it will be the same figure that is on the puppy’s page and in the signed agreement. It does not move.
Collection window
Please collect or receive the puppy within fourteen days of it reaching go-home age unless we have agreed otherwise. After that I have a dog that should be settling into your house still settling into mine, which is not good for the dog.
A word about payment fraud
This website will never email you payment details and neither will any page on it. If a message claiming to be from Homestead Golden Retrievers arrives asking you to send money by a method you did not agree with me directly, stop and write to info@homesteadgoldenretrievers.com before you do anything else.
