Maeve came to us at nine weeks old and has never lived anywhere else. She is the dog we point at when people ask what we breed for, because everything we want in a litter, she already is: settled around noise, patient with handling, and completely uninterested in a fuss.
She raises a litter with almost no help from us. We weigh the puppies, we keep the box clean and we stay out of her way, and by four weeks she is the one deciding when they come off her and when they go back on. Puppies out of Maeve are noticeably easy to settle in a new house, which we think is her doing rather than ours.
She is not a show dog and we make no claim about her paperwork. She is a good dog who lives in our kitchen.

Why this dog is bred from
Every dog here has been seen by our veterinarian, and we will tell you what was found on any of them if you ask. There are no registry papers, no hip, elbow, eye or cardiac scoring and no genetic panel behind any of them, and we will not imply otherwise. A claim we cannot back is worth less to you than no claim at all.
What decides it is temperament. A dog that is anxious, sharp or unhappy around people is not bred from here, whatever else is true about her, because a litter learns how to be a dog from its mother long before it learns anything from us.
